The Stouffville Spirit opens the 2026-27 Ontario Junior Hockey League season at home to the Markham Royals on Thursday, Sept. 10, the league announced today.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
The game will be the first of four in the second annual Markham Stouffville Cup series. The Spirit captured the inaugural cup, which is presented in support of the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, last season
It’s the first of six Thursday night home games for the Spirit this season.
They’ll also host 19 games on Saturday nights at the Stouffville Arena.
The other two games played in Stouffville are matinees, on Sunday, Nov. 29, and Wednesday, Dec. 30.
The Spirit plays two games at the OJHL’s Governors’ Showcase in Niagara Fall, ON on Oct. 5 and 7.
The regular season ends Feb. 27.

Training camp opens Aug. 17 at the Stouffville Arena. The Spirit is hosting preseason games on Aug. 22 and Sept. 2.
