The Stouffville Spirit have acquired Xavier Rowe from the Caledon Admirals of the Ontario Junior Hockey League in exchange for a player development fee, the team announced today.
“Xavier is someone our staff identified as a player who fits the identity we’re building in Stouffville, and we’re excited to welcome him to our program,” said Spirit Head Scout Greg Buchanan.
The 16-year-old forward from Scarborough had 20 points (7 goals/13 assists) and 96 penalty minutes with Caledon last season.
“Xavier competes at a high level, plays with a physical edge, and isn’t afraid to get to the hard areas of the ice,” Buchanan said. “He has the skill and offensive ability to contribute in a variety of ways, and we believe there’s another level to his offensive game that our staff is excited to help him untap this season.
“We’re confident Xavier will be a valuable addition to our lineup, and we believe our fans will quickly appreciate the way he competes night in and night out in Spirit town.”
Rowe played AAA minor hockey with the Toronto Titans and North York Rangers organizations.
He was a 13th-round pick of the Oshawa Generals in the 2025 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
Rowe played for Team Orange in the inaugural Zach Hyman OJHL Prospects Series last season.
The Spirit will open its main training camp at the Stouffville Arena on Aug. 17. It hosts preseason games Aug. 22 (St. Michael’s Buzzers) and Sept. 2 (Toronto Patriots).
The Ontario Junior Hockey League regular season is expected to begin in early September.
