Games 4 and 5 against Pickering will be played Thursday (7:30 p.m.) and Sunday (2:30 p.m.) at the Stouffville Arena
The Stouffville Spirit’s Lucas Demiglio sure knows how to cap off a big day.
Hours after being named to the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Second Prospect Teams for the 2025-26 season, the rookie scored the only goal in the Spirit’s 1-0 playoff win in Pickering Tuesday afternoon. Demiglio tallied with 5:13 remaining in regulation on assists from Hudson Armstrong and Griffen Boyle.
Hayden Sabourin was named Player of the Game after pitching a 23-save shutout.
The Pickering Panthers lead the best-of-seven East Conference semifinal 2-1.
Games 4 and 5 will be played Thursday (7:30 p.m.) and Sunday (2:30 p.m.) at the Stouffville Arena.
Demiglio is no stranger to postseason heroics this spring. He has nine points in as many games in the 2026 OJHL playoffs, including the series-winning goal in Round 1, a six-game elimination of the St. Michael’s Buzzers.
Demiglio, 17, finished his rookie year in the OJHL with 46 points (18 goals, 28 assists) in 50 games with the Spirit. He played in two Spirit games in 2024-25 as an affiliate player from the Toronto Marlboros U18 team.
The Richmond Hill native joined his older brother, OJHL alum Julian, on the Brampton Steelheads, signing as a free agent in October 2025 and scoring his first OHL goal with the team in January. He played in seven games with Brampton this season, scoring two goals.
The Newmarket Hurricanes lead the Trenton Golden Hawks 3-0 in the other OJHL East semifinal.
