TJ HILL TALKS 2024-25 ON PODCAST: ‘WE FEEL IT AS COACHES AND PLAYERS. THE CROWD, THE ATMOSPHERE IS UNBELIEVABLE’

Spirit Head Coach TJ Hill appears is on the Ken’s Korner Podcast this week to speak about a memorable season in Stouffville.

The Spirit had its best season in 10 years, finished fourth in the Ontario Junior Hockey League East and swept Wellington in the first round of the playoffs.

The club had 10 NCAA Division I or Ontario Hockey League commitments.

Four members of the organization received postseason awards from the league, including Hill himself.

With podcast host Ken Judge, this year’s OJHL Coach of the Year talked about:

  • How this season’s players were always “ready to go…this group never stopped. That jumped out and told me this group might be a little bit different.”
  • The support in the community and inside the Stouffville Arena for his team: “Amazing support. We feel it as coaches and players. The crowd, the atmosphere is unbelievable. The noise level is so high that I can’t get the ref’s attention … that’s what you want/” 
  • What he looks for in off-season recruiting.
  • What next season looks like in Spiritville, and for his graduating player.
