Stouffville Spirit alumnus takes next step in professional hockey journey
The Stouffville Spirit is proud to announce that forward Tayjon Street has signed a professional contract with the Danbury Hat Tricks of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) for the 2026-27 season.
Street’s move to Danbury represents the culmination of a remarkable development journey that began in the red, black, and white of the Spirit and continued through his time in the Ontario Hockey League.
“Tayjon is someone I have been scouting and recruiting for over six months,” said AJ Galante, General Manager of the Danbury Hat Tricks. “He brings us size, toughness, energy and finds ways to put the puck in the net. I believe he will be an absolute force for us and a fan favorite. He is mature beyond his years — and I fully expect him to catch the eyes of leagues above us in time.”
The Stouffville Connection
Street’s professional hockey story has deep roots in Stouffville. The 21-year-old right winger from Vaughan first donned a Spirit jersey during the 2023-24 season, appearing in 38 regular-season games while recording 7 goals and 13 assists for 20 points. His physical presence—listed at 6’1″ and 205 pounds—and willingness to play a gritty, energy-filled game made an immediate impression.
Following a season (2024-25) with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League, Street returned to Stouffville, where he flourished during the 2025-26 campaign. In 38 regular-season games, he recorded 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points, demonstrating significant growth and consistency. Street also added 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) in 11 playoff games.
“Tayjon’s development with the Spirit over the past three seasons speaks for itself,” said Stouffville Spirit GM/Governor Kenny Burrows. “He came in as a prospect willing to work, listened to coaching, and consistently improved. His work ethic and character are exactly what we want to see from our players as they move up the hockey ladder.”
The Sudbury Experience
Street’s time with the Sudbury Wolves, the Spirit’s OHL affiliate team, added another crucial layer to his development. Signed as a free agent to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement in October 2024, Street impressed Wolves brass with his attitude and dedication, despite limited offensive production at the elite junior level.
“Tayjon has come in and been a tremendous teammate with a humble and amazing work ethic,” said Rob Papineau, Vice President and General Manager of the Sudbury Wolves, when Street signed with the team. “He has earned this signing and place on our team. He understands the continued commitment needed to contribute at this level. He genuinely appreciates everything and everyone and is the definition of a high character teammate.”
