STOUFFVILLE, ON – The Stouffville Spirit is pleased to announce that the organization has acquired forward Logan Bennett from the Trenton Golden Hawks in exchange for a Player Development Fee. Bennett will join the Spirit for the remainder of the 2026-27 Ontario Junior Hockey League season.
He’s expected to be in the lineup when the Spirit hosts the Mississauga Chargers on Thursday at the Stouffville Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
Bennett, a centre from Oshawa, had 15 points (5 goals/10 assists) in Trenton last season, his first year at the junior level. The acquisition marks a strategic addition to the Spirit’s forward group as Head Coach TJ Hill, General Manager Kenny Burrows and the rest of the hockey staff continue building their roster.
“Logan is a player our staff really liked because of the reliability and physical presence he brings to our lineup,” said Spirit Assistant GM Greg Buchanan. “At 6-foot-3, he’s extremely responsible in the defensive zone, very strong on faceoffs and is a tough player to play against. He competes hard, finishes his checks and brings a physical element that we feel fits the identity of our group. He reminds me of Stouffville’s own Kyle Baston, who we acquired last season.
“We also believe there’s more offensive ability in his game that will come with a bigger role after a strong first year in the league. Logan gives us a player we can trust in a variety of situations, and we’re excited about the impact he’ll make with the Spirit.”
The Spirit has lost only once in its first five starts this season. After hosting Mississauga Thursday, the Spirit plays in Aurora on Friday.
The Spirit will play two games at the OJHL’s annual Governors’ Showcase in Niagara Falls, ON, next week: Monday against Milton and Wednesday vs Collingwood.
