The Stouffville Spirit returns to the Stouffville Arena tonight following a 12-day stretch of road games.

Now 6-3-0-0 and in second place in the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s East Conference, the Spirit hosts the always-tough Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

The Spirit has had steady and sometimes spectacular goaltending over the first month of the OJHL schedule from veterans Kyle Downey and Stephen Toltl.

Of the 52 netminders who saw action across the league during September, Downey was 10th in goals-against average at 2.21 and Toltl was 11th at 2.28.

On Monday night in Cobourg Toltl didn’t give up a goal until the 18:49 mark of the third period. The Spirit, who were outshot 33-23, won 3-1.
