TORONTO – The stellar play of multiple Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) netminders across the country have seen them sport some impressive numbers so far this season.
There are currently 34 stoppers, that have seen a minimum of 600 minutes of game action, who boast a goals-against average of under 2.50.
Two of them tend goal for the Stouffville Spirit.
Kyle Downey of the Spirit is fourth best in the CJHL, with a 1.82 GAA, along with a .929 save percentage and two shutouts in 12 games.
Spirit stable mate Stephen Toltl has a 2.05 GAA, good for a 12th-place tie in the CJHL. Tolt’s save percentage is .922.
The Canadian Junior Hockey League is a national organization comprised of nine Junior A leagues from Alberta to the Maritimes. The CJHL currently represents 122 teams and well over 2,500 players.
