The Stouffville Spirit has acquired forward Connor Hollebek from the Caledon Admirals in an all-Ontario Junior Hockey League trade.
Going to the West Conference Admirals is a player development fee.
The 18-year-old from Alliston split last season between the Admirals and the OJHL’s Haliburton County Huskies (now Cobourg Cougars). He was selected to play in the OJHL’s Zach Hyman Prospects Series last season.
Now 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, he’s a graduate of the Barrie Colts AAA program.
“Connor is a player we’ve been watching develop for several years now, and when the opportunity to acquire him arose, it was something we acted on immediately,” Spirit Head Scout Greg Buchanan. “He has elite offensive instincts, a natural scoring touch and the ability to create offense in a variety of ways. His development has continued to trend upward, and we believe our coaching staff can help him take another step in his game.
“We’re confident he has all the tools to have a breakout season and become a major contributor for our hockey club here in Stouffville next season.”
Hollebek was selected by the Ottawa 67s in the 2024 Ontario Hockey League draft.
The Spirit opens training camp in Stouffville in mid-August. The OJHL regular season is expected to begin in early September.
