The Stouffville Spirit has acquired big forward Duncan Grube from the Trenton Golden Hawks in an Ontario Junior Hockey League transaction.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound winger had 16 points in 51 games with Trenton last season, while playing on the team’s shutdown defensive line.
Grube scored 23 goals and added 16 assists in 30 games the previous season with the Jr. C Alliston Hornets. He was named Provincial Junior Hockey League Carruthers Division Rookie of the year for 2021-22.
Grube is a product of the Barrie Colts AAA program
The Spirit will play six preseason games before opening the OJHL regular season Sept. 8 in Aurora. The team plays its home opener the next night, Saturday, Sept. 9, against the same Aurora Tigers.
