ELITE 8: SPIRIT OPENS OJHL QUARTERFINAL IN TRENTON FRIDAY

Game 2 Sunday afternoon at the Stouffville Arena

The Stouffville Spirit will begin the second round of the Ontario Junior Hockey League playoffs this weekend.

The Spirit travels to Trenton Friday to play the host Golden Hawks in the opening game of the best-of-seven series.

Game 2 goes Sunday at the Stouffville Arena beginning at 2:30 p.m.

The third game will be played Tuesday, March 25, at Trenton at 7:30

Game 4 goes Thursday, March 27, at 7:30 in Stouffville.

The Spirit qualified for the ‘Elite 8’ OJHL quarterfinals by sweeping the Wellington Dukes in the best-of-seven first round.

Trenton needed five games to dispatch the Pickering Panthers.

Trenton (47-6-2-1) won the regular season title in the 24-team OJHL and finished first in the East Conference.

Stouffville (33-19-0-4)  finished fourth.

Trenton swept Stouffville in the opening round of the 2024 playoffs on their way to the league championship series, which they lost to the Collingwood Blues.

The Haliburton County Huskies and Toronto Jr. Canadiens are playing in the other East semifinal/OJHL quarter-final.
