ALL FIVE SPIRIT AFFILIATES SELECTED IN OHL U16 DRAFT

Five for five.

All five Stouffville Spirit affiliate players eligible for this weekend’s Ontario Hockey League U16 Priority Selection in Kingston were selected.

The list includes a pair of Vaughan Kings who were picked by the Sarnia Sting.

  • The Sting used the fourth pick overall to take Kings defenceman Adrian Sgro Friday night.
  • Lucas Matheson also went in the first round (17th overall) to his hometown Barrie Colts on Friday.
  • On Saturday, Sarnia went back to Vaughan to take forward Brody Brown (43rd overall) in the third round, making him the third Spirit AP on the board.
  • Stouffville’s own Ronan Quinn also went in the third round (49th overall), to the Spirit’s OHL affiliate, the Sudbury Wolves.
  • Defenceman Ethan Davidson completed the Spirit sweep when the North Bay Battalion selected him in the 10th round (192nd overall).
